Student and university journeys

College Lane is roughly seven minutes from Welwyn Garden City, and we run to both University of Hertfordshire campuses at any hour. On moving-in day or at the end of term, an estate or MPV+ fits the boxes and suitcases in one go.

Visiting for an open day, or flying in to start your course? We track arrivals at Heathrow, Stansted and Luton Airport.

Pick the right vehicle

A saloon for a quick station run, a minibus for the whole party, or something smarter for the big day.

What the fare includes

Useful extras for students and parents, at no added cost.

  1. Arrivals tracked

International students landing at Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted: share the flight number and a late landing adds no waiting charge.

  2. Space for a term's kit

The MPV+ takes four large cases and the estate three, so most student moves fit in a single trip.

  3. Price set before you go

A long run to Bristol or Exeter is quoted up front and stays the same whatever the motorway does.

  4. Card, never cash

Each journey is settled by card. Schools and organisations with a business account get a monthly invoice.

Drivers parents can trust

Licensed drivers

Every driver holds a private hire licence and carries their badge in the car, so you always know who is driving you.

Enhanced DBS checks

Drivers are vetted with an enhanced DBS check before they take a single booking, and the checks are kept up to date.

Plated and insured

Each vehicle is tested, plated for private hire and insured to carry passengers, whether it is a saloon or a 16 seater.

Open around the clock

Book online, ring 01707 400400 or email the office. Somebody is on the phones at 4am on a Sunday as much as at noon.

Student travel questions

Can you take me to university and collect me at the end of term?

Yes. Give us both dates when you book and the trip home will be arranged well in advance.

Can you meet a late-night flight?

Yes. We operate around the clock, 365 days a year, and follow your flight, so landing in the small hours is fine.

How are fares paid?

By card, as we are fully cashless. Organisations with a business account can be invoiced monthly instead.

Will all my belongings fit?

For a typical move the estate takes three large cases and the MPV+ four. Bigger loads, or a few friends moving together, suit the 8 seater minibus.
